    Review on the Status of the Research on Power-to-Gas Experimental Activities

    In recent years, power-to-gas technologies have been gaining ground and are increasingly proving their reliability. The possibility of implementing long-term energy storage and that of being able to capture and utilize carbon dioxide are currently too important to be ignored. However, systems of this type are not yet experiencing extensive realization in practice. In this study, an overview of the experimental research projects and the research and development activities that are currently part of the power-to-gas research line is presented. By means of a bibliographical and sitographical analysis, it was possible to identify the characteristics of these projects and their distinctive points. In addition, the main research targets distinguishing these projects are presented. This provides an insight into the research direction in this regard, where a certain technological maturity has been achieved and where there is still work to be done. The projects found and analyzed amount to 87, mostly at laboratory scale. From these, what is most noticeable is that research is currently focusing heavily on improving system efficiency and integration between components

    Augmented Reality to Guide Selective Clamping and Tumor Dissection During Robot-assisted Partial Nephrectomy: A Preliminary Experience.

    ABSTRACT Introduction to explore the feasibility of augmented reality (AR) to guide arterial clamping during robot-assisted partial nephrectomy (RAPN). Patients and Methods 15 consecutive patients with T1 renal mass underwent RAPN guided by AR. The 3D virtual model derived by computed tomography was superimposed on the actual view provided by the Da Vinci video stream thought AR technology. Preoperative plan of arterial clamping based on 2D conventional imaging, on 3D model and the effective intraoperative surgical approach guided by AR were compared using the McNeamar test. Results The plan of arterial clamping based on 2D preoperative imaging was recorded as follows: no clamping in 3 (20%), clamping of the main artery in 10 (66.7%) and selective clamping in 1 (6.7%) and super-selective clamping in 1 (6.7%) cases. After revision of the 3D model, the plan of clamping was modified as follows: no clamping in 1 (6.7%), clamping of the main artery in 2 (13.3%), selective clamping in 8 (53.3%) and super-selective clamping in 4 (26.7%) cases (p=0.03). The effective intraoperative clamping approach guided by AR-guidance was performed as planned in 13 (86.7%) patients. Conclusion AR for 3D guided renal surgery is useful to increase the adoption of selective clamping during RAPN

    In this paper we introduce a novel fitness function for evolutionary art, which generates sequences of movements--i.e. robot choreographies--based on similarity to an inspiring repertoire. Similarityis counterbalanced by a novelty mechanisms, which makes it possible to sample unexplored areas ofthe choreography space. The approach is discussed together with preliminary results achieved in thecontext of N\u14d theatre.     Postnatal development of high-affinity plasma membrane GABA transporters GAT-2 and GAT-3 in the rat cerebral cortex

    We investigated the developmental profile of plasma membrane Îł-aminobutyric acid (GABA) transporters (GATs) GAT-2 and GAT-3 expression by immunocytochemistry with affinity-purified polyclonal antibodies in the rat neocortex. At all developmental ages investigated, GAT-2 ir was prominent in the arachnoid and in the trabeculae of the subarachnoid space, whereas it was weak within the cortical parenchyma; the adult pattern was reached during the third week of postnatal life. GAT-3 ir was present at birth and increased rapidly in the first week, when numerous positive cells were present throughout the cortical layers; at P10, GAT-3-positive cells became less numerous and GAT-3 ir switched to the adult pattern, which was expressed at P20. Confocal and electron microscopic investigations showed that GAT-3 positive cells were both neurons and astrocytes. The present evidence indicates that early in development GAT-3 is abundantly expressed in the cerebral cortex, where its expression appears to correlate with developmental variations in GABA levels, and suggests that it accounts for the largest fraction of GABA transport observed in the neonatal cerebral cortex
